Ra Law of One - What It Is, and What It Is Not

In recent days, an individual had mentioned 'Ra the law of one', while the individual apparently assumed that everyone ought to know what 'Ra the law of one' means. But what is Ra The Law of One? Who is Ra? And, specifically, what does 'Ra the law of one' mean? To my knowledge at the time, there were only three Ra's: [1] the Egyptian god Ra, [2] the sick-o Ra dude on the Stargate television series, and [3] what cheerleaders holler: "Ra! Ra! Ra!".
But now there's a fourth Ra, and... and... (nervously humorous)... is that the fourth Ra is from the creepy 80s.
As the stories are told, in the 80s Don Elkins asked questions while Carla L. Rueckert channeled information from a non-earthling extraterrestrial "social memory complex" who/what/that called itself "Ra". As it turns out, the channeled "Ra" claimed of itself to have been the original Egyptian Ra god, who, as a physical extraterrestrial being came down from the heavens (accompanied with other physical extraterrestrial beings), and attempted to help mankind, but had made mistakes, and then after returning to their planet, they evolved into a 'higher density' of love and light, and, and, and on and on.
Don Elkins and Carla L. Rueckert recorded their channeled questions and answers, and then later published the recordings as books. The following information and quotes are taken from the book series titled The Law of One copyright© 1981-1984 by Carla L. Rueckert, Don Elkins, and Jim McCarty. The website https://www.llresearch.org/library/the-ra-contact-teaching-the-law-of-one has PDFs of the first two books, from which the following information was gleaned.
"This is how Ra described the Law of One:
"In truth there is no right or wrong. There is no polarity, for all will be, as you would say, reconciled at some point in your dance through the mind/body/spirit complex which you amuse yourself by distorting in various ways at this time. This distortion is not in any case necessary. It is chosen by each of you as an alternative to understanding the complete unity of thought which binds all things. You are not speaking of similar or somewhat like entities or things. You are every thing, every being, every emotion, every event, every situation. You are unity. You are infinity. You are love/light, light/love. You are. This is the Law of One.""
For over forty years, the "you are love/light" has been a very common claim within the new age communities. Nevertheless, there are four immediate and distinct problems: [1] no new age ideology (including science) knows what love is, [2] without "polarity" love cannot exist, [3] love is a self-created emotion by living organic creatures, not created by wishful thinking, nor enabled by memorizing and following teachings, and [4] mankind as a whole is devolving, not evolving.
Too, the Ra saying of everyone being "every thing... unity" etc., is the age-old lie that all humans are identical, the same, and equal of all qualities. For each word spoken by Ra, ten-thousand words can reply with permanent proof of Ra's claims being self-contradicting lies.
"We are old upon your planet and have served with varying degrees of success in transmitting the Law of One, of Unity, of Singleness to your peoples. We have walked your earth. We have seen the faces of your peoples. This is not so with many of the entities of the Confederation. We found it was not efficacious."
It is a very common — and a very false — belief that people can be "taught" how to behave properly, and "taught" how to acquire and to become love. It is similar to a Mensa fellow wanting to improve his fluid intelligence by increasing his education: fluid intelligence is as that which you self-learn while participating in one's own life, while crystallized intelligence is what is memorized from books, schools, and other teachings. The Mensa fellow actually believed that memorizing words could improve his fluid intelligence. The Ra claim of "transmitting the Law of One" is parallel; love and harmony are not things that can be trained, nor memorized; they are things that each person must achieve all by themselves. Ra's message was as false as the Mensa boy's belief.
"It was Ra’s longstanding desire to correct the distortions introduced to the Law of One during that time period that led them to make contact with our group. But that was not their only reason. Ra also made contact with our group because Earth is nearing the end of a 75,000 year master cycle of evolution, and many of its population are ready to graduate to the next evolutionary stage, what Ra calls the fourth density, the density of love and understanding. They wished to be of aid in this time of transition and thus responded to the call for service issuing forth from this planet."
Love has no "desire" nor "wish". A developed 'love' is like as if an inner self that is in full harmony towards the loved one. Any disharmonious (and thus destructive) selfish ingredient of "desire" or "wishing" would permanently destroy and prevent the state of a developed 'love'. Therefore Ra's 'love' could not have been love. Therefore the "Law of One" is false.

It has been a very common claim throughout thousands of years of recorded history that the world is about to end, and that all good people will go to heaven. For about fifty years Herbert W. Armstrong claimed that Jesus was going to return at any moment, all while Armstrong continued to write and sell more books for the purpose of profiting in future years. Armstrong's claims were obvious lies, deceit, and hypocrisy. The harmonic convergence of the 80s also claimed that the world was about to enter into a new "mankind being harmonically changed for the better" because the 'Mayan Calendar' said so.
If anyone had truly believed that the world was coming to an end, or that humans were about to magically become moral spiritual creatures, or anything similar, then the people would have changed their lives to live in agreement with their beliefs. No one did. Normal people do not even believe what they themselves say.
The Law of One book series repeated similar claims as what was claimed for the 1980s harmonic converge, but The Law of One merely changed a few names and dates, all while publishing books for the purpose of 'profiting in future years' like what Armstrong did. If an author had truly believed that "many of its population are ready to graduate to the next evolutionary stage", then the author would have lived a life in agreement with what he believed: "It is obvious: normal people's behaviors never reflect the people's beliefs".
"I am Ra. I have not spoken through this instrument before. We had to wait until she was precisely tuned, as we send a narrow-band vibration."
The word "vibration" infers a three-dimensional effect. A 3D signal of any source is incapable of [1] transmitting quantitative information, [2] transmitting and receiving instantaneously (as within a dialog), and [3] it cannot be of any non-3D "love/light" "density". Individuals who are familiar with physics know that distant instantaneous information is not related to 3D. If the "Ra" entity had given so much as a vague reference to non-3D information, then perhaps the book might be worthy of further investigation, but, as the wording was presented, every single thing allegedly spoken of by "Ra" was as what would be expected to have been said by an individual who had no knowledge of physics, no knowledge of emotions, no knowledge of 'evolution', no knowledge of 'love', no knowledge of the normal human state, no knowledge of history, and just generally held no useful knowledge of anything at all beyond the popular fads of the 80s.
A Curious Thought
I myself am not a 'channeler', nor have I ever witnessed a channeler who was not a fraud. However, anecdotal evidence is high that many individuals have 'received' information from 'spirits' while using an ouija board. As I have been told by individuals who have witnessed people using ouija boards, the users do not have control over what sort of 'spirit' that they contact.
As one individual commented to me, the person channeling for The Law of One might have actually 'contacted a spirit', but not a good one.
Sum
Of every paragraph that I glanced at within The Law of One, all contained ideas that are easily proven to be contradictory and false. For myself, I will not harm myself further by reading more of The Law of One.
If an individual is interested in reading The Law of One, I would recommend to first read the free PDFs before spending about a hundred dollars for the books. Too, there are a quantity of other related titles written by the same authors, so the expenses might become excessive.
Normally I remain quiet about the many different fringe groups, but since The Law of One is claimed to have gathered a quantity of readers, and since the book is so deeply unsettling, then for my own benefit I have released some of the tensions by writing this brief article.
